Every price here is where a ring begins. The stone, the metal and the width of the band set the rest, and you leave the consultation with a price.
You see every stone before it is set.

Engagement rings
from £1,850
A solitaire in recycled 18ct gold or platinum, with a 0.30 ct diamond chosen with you.
A setting for your own stone
from £950
A ring designed and made around a stone you bring, inherited or bought.
Wedding rings
from £480
A 2.5 mm band in recycled 9ct gold, or shaped to sit flush against your engagement ring. From £780 in 18ct gold and £920 in platinum.
Commissions
from £650
Signet rings, eternity rings, earrings and pendants, drawn and made to order.
Engraving inside a band from £35. Every ring we make is hallmarked and carries our maker's mark, AW.

Drawn, carved, cast.
The consultation Free, 45 minutes, at the bench
Bring photographs, a ring you love, or nothing at all. We talk through stones, metals and what you'd like to spend, and measure your finger. You leave with a price, and no obligation.
The drawing Within a week
Nell draws your ring to scale, front and side, and sends it to you. We change it until it's right. When you approve it we take a £250 deposit, which comes off the final price.
The wax About two weeks on
Nell carves your ring in green wax and you come back to try it on. Change the width of the band or the height of the stone now: it's quick in wax, and slow in gold.
The ring Six to eight weeks in all
The wax is cast in your gold or platinum two streets away. We file and polish it, Marek sets the stone, it's hallmarked, and you collect it from the bench.

The gold you were left, made into yours.
Bring in the rings, chains and brooches you've been left. We test and weigh the gold in front of you, look at the stones, and tell you honestly what they could become.
Your gold
If there's enough of it, and it's the right carat, we make the new piece from it. If not, its value comes off a piece in recycled gold.

We check each one and re-set it in the new design.

Two benches, behind the glass.
Our bench room is behind the showroom, through a glass wall, so you can watch your ring being made from the counter. There are just the two of us.
Nell Ashworth opened Aurum in 2014, after seven years at the bench of an old ring-maker on Vyse Street. She draws every design and carves every wax. Marek Kowal joined in 2019; he sets every stone under the microscope at the back bench.

We sweep the bench every evening. The gold dust from the floor goes back to be refined with our scrap, and comes back as the recycled gold we make with.
Resizing and repairs, at the counter.
Bring them to the counter on a Saturday, between 10am and 4pm; no appointment needed. Most resizing takes a week.
